The Nashville Post Online News stated, "Gary L. Grizzell of Cookeville is the sole named inventor on U.S. Patent No. 7,789,383, entitled “Saddle stitcher for paperback books.” (Patent Patrol: 8 September 2010; www.nashvillepost.com/).
Grizzell has patented an idea he had many years ago. History: Desiring to Self-Publish by producing his own booklets inexpensively and in the privacy of his own office, he found that the missing link in the process was binding by proper stapling his otherwise completed booklet.
An electric saddle stitcher was more expensive than he desired to pay so he visited business machine and office supply stores at that time to find and purchase what he had envisioned was needed. Simply stated, he could not find it. He noted that spiral binding machines were available, but not the desktop size, mechanical booklet saddle stapler. He was surprised that no one had come up with a desktop, mechanical saddle stapler. He termed this, "the missing link," in office supply stores and a worthy option to the well known and widely used spiral binder.
How and where is this "missing link" booklet stapler needed? Answer: All Desktop Publishers -- As colorful coverstock can be easily purchased at office supply stores, all spiral binder users may want to consider this new desktop saddle binder for a viable option. Consider who can use this mechanical, inexpensive product:

- Use as a

"Necessity is the mother of invention" (Plato) was the basis upon which the Booklet Bindery Box (BBB) idea was developed.

Please do me a fun favor and leave a brief review/opinion of my product
idea. (Certain reviews will be posted on the site eventually--Policy Change--only your initials will be used IF REQUESTED -- please mention your state location). Can
you see this could be used in the church office, business office for
few or many copies, and/or longer 100
pagers for the aspiring book self-publisher/author? If so, I'd be
interested in your feedback/comment. I'm sure you are busy and
this won't take but "a couple of minutes" due to the simplicity of the idea.... (simplicity is good, right?)... Can you see an additional use of this easy to use booklet stapler? Then Email me with your brief feedback. Click on my Email Address below to Leave Your Comment:

L.O. (TN) says: "As a high school business teacher, I can see that this invention would
certainly help students in Desktop Publishing classes to be able to
produce a beautiful finished product when creating booklets of any
kind. Trying to use a regular stapler just doesn’t work at all!"
Harrell Davidson (TN): "A brilliant idea and one that is much needed. I have done eight
quarterly (13 week) workbooks. All spiral bound. One was published
twice--1500 copies. You have developed a wonderful alternative and one
that is much better. Thanks for the hard work. - author, preacher, lecturer
C.R. (TN) writes: "Gary, Looks like a great idea"
Z.S. (TN) states: "Looks like a great idea to me!"

and allows the self-publisher to produce an attractive product that
looks professionally done - the goal and aspiration of every
self-publisher! I happily lend my support to this great product - my

David P. Brown (TX) wrote: "Your Booklet Bindery Box is long overdue. There have been numerous times
that binding a booklet for personal use, classes, and inclusion of
material in a library, etc., that your invention would be helpful. I like
to think of your Booklet Bindery Box as convenience binding that lasts.
I trust it will find wide usage. Please keep me posted on its
development." - PhD -- Business Administration; dir. of annual lectureship; editor of annual lec. book; dir. of internet school
Elaine Waters (TN): "What a great idea. I certainly see that this could have been utilized by
the group that I supervised before retirement. We published documents for DOE
and NRC as well as internal documents for the program staff. We used the spiral
binding machine when we didn't send out for publication reproductions and this
book stapler would have been useful as well as less expensive. Congratulations
on this discovery."
Renee (CA) wrote: "What a great idea, Gary! I'd probably use
this with teaching. I'm always putting something together for students
with pages of music involved. Best of luck and God bless!" - Professional Musician & Instructor of Music
Terry Hightower (TX) comments: "I have owned a spiral Ibico binder for years,
but have often wished I had a simpler way to put together booklets,
especially those with only a few pages. Your binder looks to 'fit the
task' in a very practical way and will no doubt be far less expensive
than those in today's marketplace. One has only to price 'saddle
stitchers' to see such costing over $2000.00! This item will fill a
niche!" - History of producing lengthy cloth bound books
Dub Mowery (TX) wrote: "Gary, I can see that you've come up with a much
needed binder. For some time I have wanted to print some inexpensive
religious tracts. Your splendid invention would enable me to do that very
thing. Also, I write articles on colloquialism for six different
newspapers. These are not religious in nature or political. I
have had a book printed on the first five years of such articles. It has
gone through the second printing. It is my intention to print a second
book on colloquialism some time in the future. Perhaps your bindery
machine is the answer for my needs in this respect."
